Colleen Avis

Colleen's interests in beautiful interiors started at an early age when she worked with her parents home refurbishing business.  Some of her earliest memories are of the historic homes in Bordentown NJ they rescued, where she helped reclaim floors, refininish original fixtures, and knock down walls. The days of bringing the old back to new were coupled with weekends of decorating and staging homes for their new owners.

Colleen credits those early days for sparking her passion for design and transitional styling and decorating.   Combining her clients own expectations and items they love with Colleen's designs brings a custom look and livable home together. 

After earning her degrees in business and finance, and subsequently working in the United States and Europe as a management consultant, Colleen returned to her first true passion.  Initially returning to school to further her design and decorating skills she began helping friends and family complete design projects.  After a few years, and spending some time getting a small business off the ground, Colleen began working with clients to create warm, inviting and practical homes. 

Colleen lives in McLean, VA with her husband, son and their dog.
